Books and yearbooks
"Reading is a privileged gateway
to understanding the tradition and culture
of places rich in history and charm"

Wine certainly falls into the category slow activities and just as certainly we can add reading to this list; reading paper, of course, that, motivated by curiosity, allows you to lose track of time and transports you to the places of your passions.

The wine shop has a catalogue of books that tell the story of Montalcino and its well-deserved fame of wine history; of course, there are also yearbooks that follow, step by step, the evolution of a hundred years of history and, then again, everything from historical essays to recent detective novels.

"QUESTA È LA MIA TERRA, Franco Biondi Santi,
Montalcino e il Brunello"

It is a fascinating book in six chapters that carries the reader along the rows of vines to knowledge of the Land of Montalcino, the family that created Brunello and one of the most important men in the world of wine. It describes the casks of Slavonian oak, the ancient method of preservation of the bottles, the corks, the special rite of the filling-up process, the history of Moscatello di Montalcino "the sweet wine produced by the monks of the Abbey of Saint Antimo and the commitment of the Biondi Santi family to help reclaim the Abbey itself.
