These are my remarks and assessments of this year´s event Benvenuto Brunello 2010

On the Benvenuto Brunello from the 19 – 22 February 2010, 134 Producers presented the new vintages of the Brunello di Montalcino (Vintage 2005 and Riserva 2004) as well as the Rosso di Montalcino (2008).

Unfortunately this year some producers were missing, which produced good wines in the past years. (Case Basse/Soldera, Costanti, Cerbaiola/Salvioni, Cerbaiona, Le Presi, Pian dell´Orino, Pogiolo, Salicutti).

This reduces the value of the event as worldwide showcase for Montalcino as excellent winegrowing region. Never the less most of the good producers came back this year and used this occasion for the direct comparison of their wines for the journalists, retailers and philhellene´s.
